“We have some standards set by our Infection, Prevention and Control team that we'd love to share with you. Following these guidelines will help keep patients and families safe this holiday season. Every item donated must be, new, unused and unopened. We are now accepting stuffed animals. Every stuffed animal has to be brand new and individually wrapped in Ziploc bags to follow infection control guidelines. If they are not new, we will donate the entire donation elsewhere. Every item must be packaged in a clean bin or box that can be closed (no bags). Please do not gift wrap items. It is to be noted that - We cannot accept anything of a violent or religious nature. We cannot accept anything made of latex or sharp. We cannot accept food for patients.” – Lurie Children’s Hospital
